TL;DR: Klook and GetYourGuide sell our service (and competitors’) with a 20–35% markup. Same physical agent at the gate, same priority lane, more friction on cancellations and rescheduling. If you want the lowest price and direct support, book direct. If you want marketplace points or you don’t speak the language, the markup is fine.

We sell fast track. This piece compares us as a direct operator against the two largest travel marketplaces that resell airport fast track in Vietnam. We’ve tried to be fair — if you spot a mistake or outdated price, WhatsApp us and we’ll fix the article.

The three players at HAN

Marketplaces don’t operate at the airport themselves — they resell capacity from licensed local operators (us and 3–4 competitors). The agent meeting your flight is the same kind of person regardless of which platform you booked.

What’s actually different

1. Price

We charge a flat 1.5M VND for arrival, 1.3M VND for departure. Marketplaces add platform fees, payment processing, and operator margins, landing 20–35% higher. On a family of 4 that’s an extra 2.4M VND (~USD 96).

2. Cancellation and rescheduling

This is where the marketplace experience falls apart in practice.

Direct (us):

• Cancel 24h+ before: 100% refund, processed in 24h.
• Cancel 6–24h before: 50% refund.
• Flight delay / cancellation: rescheduled at no charge, no questions.
• One WhatsApp message → handled.

Klook:

• Cancel 24h+ before: 100% refund, processed in 5–14 days.
• Cancel 6–24h before: usually no refund (varies by operator).
• Flight delay: customer must contact the local operator through Klook’s chat — adds 4–24 hours of message ping-pong. Klook does not handle airport-side comms.
• We’ve had Klook-routed customers reach us via WhatsApp because Klook support couldn’t connect them to a local agent in time.

GetYourGuide:

• Similar to Klook. Their refund policy is slightly better (48h grace window) but on-day comms also flow through GYG support, not direct to the airport.

3. Service quality

Honestly, when the marketplace routes to a competent operator, the service is the same. When it routes to a budget operator (which happens more on Klook’s “cheapest” listings), service drops — fewer porters, less language coverage, lower on-time rate.

We can’t verify Klook’s on-time rate but we know:

• Our agents have 98.4% on-time (Q1 2026, n=4,180).
• We’ve replaced Klook-routed customers’ missed agents 11 times in Q1 alone, billing them only the standard rate as goodwill.

4. What you can request

When marketplace makes sense

We’re not saying never book Klook or GetYourGuide. Cases where they’re a fine choice:

• You don’t speak English well. Klook has a localised app in 13 languages with one-click checkout. Their customer support also covers more languages.
• You collect points / use a marketplace credit card. Klook’s Mastercard cashback can offset some of the markup.
• You’re bundling fast track with other Vietnam activities. Klook will quote you a 2-week package with fast track, transfers, tours, etc., as one cart.
• You don’t want to message WhatsApp. Marketplace apps have proper chat interfaces, calendars, in-app support.

When direct is clearly better

• Tight onward connection. Day-of comms are critical. Direct WhatsApp is faster than marketplace ticket queues.
• Family booking — group rates only available direct.
• Wheelchair / accessibility need — we coordinate with airport disability services directly.
• Visa-on-Arrival — not bundled on marketplaces.
• You just want the lowest price. 25% saved on a 4-person family = USD 60.

Price breakdown for a real family

Hypothetical: family of 4 (2 adults + 1 child age 5 + 1 infant 18 months), arrival in Hanoi.

The marketplace family pricing is the real killer. Direct, kids under 12 are typically discounted and infants are free. Marketplaces charge per person.

Note: prices reflect 2026 marketplace rates we collected manually in May 2026. Marketplaces frequently run promotions that close the gap to ~15%. They never undercut our direct rate.

What if you’ve already booked Klook?

Show up at the airport at the agreed time and door. If the agent doesn’t appear within 10 minutes, message us at +84 70 557 7005 — we’ll deploy a backup agent for the standard direct rate (you eat the Klook fee but at least your transfer happens). We’ve done this 11 times in Q1 2026.

Bottom line

Direct beats marketplace on price, communications, family pricing, and add-ons. The only legitimate reasons to book Klook/GYG are language preference, ecosystem points, or bundling with other activities you’re also booking through them.
